Eheim Universal pumps can be used for a variety of applications. The pump designs are such that the motor windings are hermetically sealed inside the pump casing. The impeller is fixed to a permanent magnet rotor which rotates on internal bearings supported by a central spindle. The construction allows for continuous operation either submersed in or outside the pumped medium.
