The author, Dick Mills, has been keeping fishes for over 30 years, during which time he has written many articles for aquatic hobby magazines as well as over a dozen books. A member of his local aquarist society, for the past 25 years he has also been a council member of the Federation of British Aquatic Societies, for which he regularly lectures and produces a quarterly news magazine.
