Red Sea Salt is unique among all salts because of its natural properties. Recently there has been a steady move from the 'artificial", over-refined and chemically enhanced products, to 'natural' products. derived 'straight from nature' with as little technological interference as possible.
Red Sea Salt is not the product of desalination and is the most natural artificial seasalt on the market, with at least 87% of the raw materials being reclaimed from natural water sources using solar evaporation techniques. Coming fresh from the Red Sea, the salt used to produce Red Sea Salt already contains trace elements in the same ratio that is found in natural sea water. Tests in their laboratory have shown a significant improvement in coral growth when using 'natural' as opposed to 'chemically pure' salts in Red Sea Salt formula.
Special characteristics of Red Sea Salt include:
- A single, chemically balanced formula to support the most delicate marine life
- Produces a clear solution that is almost indistinguishable from the natural sea water
- Reaches a stable, natural pH shortly after mixing
- No Nitrates or Phosphates
- Produced by a small batch production process to ensure homogeneity of salt mixture
- Every batch is biologically and chemically tested to assure quality
Calcium
The calcium content of Red Sea Salt has been formulated such that after dissolving in normal tap water it will produce a solution that contains 380- 42ppm (dependent on the level of calcium present in the tap water) of calcium, without precipitation and the consequent loss of trace elements.
Technical Data
2.81bs dissolved in US gallons or 1 kg in 30 litres of Reverse Osmosis (R.O.) water at 78'F (25'C) will produce a seawater solution specified as follows:
Specific gravity: 1.021 ph: 8.4 (after 2 hours mixing or aerating) Alkalinity: 2.2-2.5 milliequivalents/litre. |
